Oreo Cupcakes
Alright, I owe you guys some more chocolate. And if you can’t eat it, you can at least look at it, right? I guess I have a thing for weird cupcakes. If I’m going to eat something unhealthy, I make it count! Since I’m not allowed to bake anything in the kitchen right now, I’ll just pretend I’m able to.
It was a coworker’s 30th birthday a couple weeks ago, so I jumped at the chance to make a themed bday treat. That’s where the “Dirty Thirty” comes in. Wishing I could bake something Shamrock-y right now! Cooking fever is setting in, but we need to keep the kitchen as clean as possible.
The Materials
This recipe is so basic. Skill level: Easy
- Cupcake Tins
- Chocolate Cake Mix
- Chocolate Pudding (optional for added moistness)
- Chocolate Oreo Cookies
- Chocolate Frosting
- Gummy Worms
How-To
First, make your cupcakes. Read the box for that. Or if you want to make them from scratch, go for it! Once they’re cooled, frost your cupcakes. Pretty self-explanatory, right? Moving on.
Open your package of cookies and separate the wafers from the frosting. Twist and use a knife to scrape, if needed. You only need the chocolate wafters. Sorry, cream lovers!
Now use something to crush the cupcakes onto a plate, like a cup or meat mallet.
Take your frosted cupcake by the base and dunk it completely into the cookie crumbs.
Now that’s some nice dirt.
Just add the worms and you’re all set! This would also be a fun idea for a little boy’s birthday party. You could incorporate toy dump trucks and hard hats and arrange them on a table.
P.S. I’m also currently into caramel apple nachos:
