Alright, we’re about to get personal here and talk about something you (probably) use every day. Something that gets all up in your business. Something you may be uncomfortable talking about: Deodorant.
Well now that Joe is recovering from his triple wisdom tooth extraction surgery, (Oh you, didn’t hear about that? Yeah he was pretty miserable) he’s ready for a bunch of projects. Those are his words, not mine. Most people would be thrilled at the chance to take three days off work, lay on the couch and watch movies while eating ice cream. Ok, maybe not thrilled. It wasn’t exactly a walk in the park. Nevertheless, he’s been going crazy not being able to do anything.
Here’s one of his ideas from last weekend: The Puppy Trainer 3000™
Shila is the best puppy ever, but she has a slight problem letting us know when she needs to go outside to do her business. So he thought that if she had some sort of bell system, she could let us know what she needs. She doesn’t really bark, so there’s no vocal cue. The ideas is, she rings the bell and we take her out.
They do! And I’m gonna make you guess the next two in my trio of trio posts.
I make great use of the food dehydrator – it’s so easy to cut up food and leave it for a couple days. Not to mention, it’s a healthy alternative to pre-packaged snacks. It does run up the electric bill a little bit tho… Hey, anyone want to join me for Unprocessed October? The dehydrator will definitely come in handy! No added salt or sugar to these three snack recipes.
Holy smokes- it’s only 2 weeks away! Are you ready for the cool down this week? It’s sure feeling fall to us. And that’s 100% ok. I’m a summer baby, converted fall aficionado. Loving the crisp air.
I’m ok with fall, but are they selling Halloween costumes already? I draw the line here.
I don’t have any grand updates, but just some day-to-day stuff that I’ll fire off.
For instance, did you know it was Joe’s 5 year anniversary at work awhile ago?
Well this room has certainly come a long way since it was here:
May I interest you in a blanket sir or madam?
“Why yes, I think I’ll take a pillow as well Edgar.”
If only it could fluff up your pillow too… Maybe when the robots take over.
Aren’t there things you wish you had a say in designing? Like your office chair that never reclines far enough, or your quirky front door that needs to be shut just right for it to lock. Or that your coffee pot would start brewing your morning mocha (aka starter fluid) on a schedule each morning? Maybe it’s just for your family to have access to one calendar; everyone can update it on-the-go.
I officially love my desk post-modifications. As a lot of you big kids know, sitting at the office 8+ hours each day can have a serious effect on your posture. I make a major effort to take stretch breaks and walkabouts. But when the bulk of time is spent in your chair, arms at the keyboard, eyes facing the monitor, that’s not enough. So think about how important your seating position is — at the end of the day it’s going to make a difference. For those of us who have next and shoulder trouble already, it’s especially important. I ordered a laptop stand that you see in the picture above, but it just wasn’t cutting it. So I had to take matters into my own hands.
In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, let me share some of the amazingly sweet things Joe does for me on a regular basis:
The list goes on. I’m allowed to brag about him today, it’s in the Valentine’s Day code.
…to the movie room! We’ve shown you the awnings and build-out, but where’s the real movie magic? Just kidding, that was pretty magical. Not to mention a lot of work.
