Tiling and Painting
Since we did the dual shower heads, we decided to extend Project Bathroom Renovation. Come check it out!
Enter if you dare
We noticed some mold spots starting to come through the paint in the shower, so we took the chance to do our first ever tiling job. The previous homeowners had only an eggshell paint in the bathroom, which was just asking for mold spores.
Joe being hyper-allergic to mold, we figured shower tile was the best option. And while we were at it, why not repaint the room in a semi-gloss to keep it as dry as possible.
Before we start
Here we go
Now the fun can begin.
Joe has not yet painted a room in his beloved blue. Until now that is. Good pick, Joe! Pittsburgh Ol’ Swimmin’ Hole. We’ve had great luck with this paint+primer in the past. After many swatches, this dark blue made the final cut.
We went with an almond shade of putty. We picked up some grout and caulking while we were there too.
Joe stumbled over some crazy tile that looked like wood grain. And we got it for a steal.
We also scooped up a ton of small square tiles for edging. Full cart.
