It’s a bird, it’s a plane! It’s… a leaf mower?
It’s that time of year. The dreaded falling of the leaves. Each day there’s a fresh blanket of orange and yellow. And of course Joe would find an alternative to raking them. I’m guilty of not being a fan of this chore, but Joe seems to enjoy it. He has a pretty strong allergy to mold, and scooping up leaves reduces all of that rotting under snow over the winter = Fewer spring allergies. This thing mulches them – which we can use to fertilize flower beds and shrubs.
Actually, one of his favorite things is playing with the leaf blower, but this takes it to a whole new level. It’s a bigger, badder kind of leaf blower. Or mower. I’m not even sure what to call it.
A lady Joe worked with gave him her old lawn mower. There were a couple minor problems that Joe fixed in no time, but otherwise it was in great shape! He came home very excited to sell this bad boy. But it was just made for greater things apparently. Joe reincarnated it to its true destined form. It’s like a thing from the island of misfit toys. It’s a wonderfully awkward contraption.
He just mounted a garbage bin with some brackets and then attached metal duct from the bin to the take off. In go the leaves, out comes mulch into the carrier.
Easy enough. Any crazy hacks you’ve made to appliances or tools? Anything that eases leaf clean-up duty? Tips appreciated!
