DIY Holiday Signs
Because everybody can use a healthy dose of encouragement and fun, here are some of the signs I’ve been working on. More hand lettering, chalk board lettering, and plenty of mermaids. Check them out!

I found some wood panelling on the cheap to put together, tongue and groove style. They make excellent, big canvases. The one on the left is stained with grey minwax, the one on the right was painted white. I found the all white was easiest, visually, as a backdrop so I made more of them like that.

I might have to touch up this one so it’s more easy to read at a distance.
Reindeer Sign

Much easier to read up close.

Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen,

Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen…
Chalkboard Galatians 6:9

Elf Quote

“Buddy the Elf, what’s your favorite color?” That’s my 2nd favorite.

Fun details

Rejoice Sign

For this one, I painted the board with farmhouse white milk paint.

Then stenciled the letters with grey paint. Then I sanded the whole thing and sealed it with gold-flecked furniture wax.
Finally, added the leaf details with gold sharpee marker.
Wish Upon a Star

Riffing off the Disney theme

This one is stenciled and I used spray adhesive to stick little stars everywhere.
JOY Wood Letters
These are basically all the same.

I used a natural aging solution for this one. Mixing vinegar and steel wool to make a stain.

This one is painted white with an antique furniture wax over top.

Available in 3 convenient sizes.
Mermaid Sign

This one is definitely hard to read, but my favorite. “A salty fisherman & a beautiful mermaid live here”

This isn’t a hook, just a metal accent.

I’ll probably trace over the lettering here one more time, or outline it.
Future Signs in the Making

So that’s what we’ve got in the works for signs so far. Here are a few others in the queue. Can’t wait to get started with them!
